Why I Chose the Title

When I chose the words “Jesus Christ for Me” as a title for this web site, it was not a random act.  In fact, these words have a deeply personal meaning for me. They reflect a choice I made early in my life which has turned out very well. Here are some of the reasons I love this phrase, “Jesus Christ for Me.”

I made a decision to choose Jesus Christ over 60 years ago and have never regretted it.

Everyone I have ever known who has chosen Jesus Christ has evidenced a better life because of it.

I have concluded that I may believe in Him unreservedly because He has demonstrated to me that He is the Truth. Further, I made a decision to follow Him obediently because He has convinced me that He is the Way. Finally, I trust Him completely for everything in my life because I believe He is the Life of God in me and with me.

The promises of Jesus Christ assure believers of his Presence with them, of his lifelong work in their lives for good, and of the gifts of faith, love, joy, peace, and eternal life. As Peter said in the gospels, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” John 6:68 NIV.

I have studied the Bible and other religions as well as atheism, naturalism, pantheism, moral relativism and other “isms” and have found only Jesus Christ and his Word supply satisfactory answers to life’s basic questions of origin, meaning, identity, purpose, and destiny.

The alternatives are unacceptable. If a person chooses to live a self-centered life based on personal gratification, it paradoxically results in frustration and alienation. If a person bases his life on the lies the world tells every day, he will still feel frustrated and unfulfilled. And if a person gives himself or herself completely over to evil and follows the Devil’s lies, it will destroy him.

I truly believe when someone who does not know Christ chooses to believe in and follow Him they will be better off in every way.

Jesus Christ has no rival in my life. I want him to come first in my life, to have priority in my thoughts, emotions, choices, speech and behavior. I trust him to do good to me. He knows everything about me and loves me in spite of my sins. No one and nothing is as important to me as Jesus Christ. I bow before him and worship him. I accept him from the core of my being.
