Our Purpose
Statement of Purpose
1. To describe what Christians believe.
This is necessary because of the high rate of Biblical illiteracy in our society today. Many people simply do not know what the Bible teaches or what is believed by Christians. This is an effort to help remedy this situation.
2. To explain why Christians believe what they believe.
There is a real, commonsense, and rational basis for the Christian faith. Christianity is based on historical events and truth; it is not based on wishful thinking or empty hope. Many Christians are intelligent, have advanced degrees and are accomplished in their field of endeavor. And they have a confident faith in the Bible and in Jesus Christ. Critics who dismiss the Christian faith as outdated or irrelevant are in danger of missing the incredible goodness of God and losing their souls. It is important that they understand that there is a rational basis for the Christian faith.
3. To provide articles on contemporary issues as seen from a Biblical point of view.
By applying Biblical principles to issues in our society, we hope to clarify what the Bible is saying about life and in so doing encourage a Christian world view and moral behavior.
4. To set forth the proposition that the Christian life is the very best life possible in this troubled world.
To summarize, the purpose of this web site is to present Biblical truth, offer apologetics*, apply Biblical wisdom to issues in our society and celebrate the Christian life.
*Apologetics is the discipline of defending or proving the truth of Christian doctrines through systematic argumentation and the presentation of evidence for those beliefs.
